Why are you here?

God created you and He loves you. You are His child.

You are here to evolve as a soul by growing your love for God, yourself, and others. This is really simple. It does not need to be cloaked in complex theology or secrecy, and it does not need to be interpreted for you.

Love is the answer to life, and resisting this revelation does not change it. If you think this is somehow ridiculous, trivial, or irrelevant, you are mistaken!

God gave us freewill, so we are able to choose whether to grow the love within us. However, creation is set up to provide us feedback as to how loving we are. This feedback mechanism is called karma.

You chose to experience your current temporary physical incarnation because the physical world teaches and tests you. It satisfies your spiritual desire to grow closer to God, and it enables you, a soul, to develop your ability to love unconditionally faster than you are able to do in the spiritual dimensions.

It takes great courage to agree to experience a physical incarnation, and you deserve a lot of credit for being here.

If you knew for sure that you are immortal, you would probably not be genuinely motivated to grow your soul or fully experience the physical world. Therefore, your true nature is temporarily “veiled” from you while you exist in the physical world. This veil is sometimes referred to as the “veil of forgetfulness”. It is more transparent for some than for others.

The ultimate kind of love is called “unconditional” love. It is given without the expectation of receiving love or other benefits in return.

God gave us the command to behave at all times in a loving manner. This rule is called the Golden Rule. It is very simple, and can be stated as "Treat others the way that you would like to be treated", or "Love thy neighbor". The Golden Rule is what you need to understand and practice.

At its simplest level, learning to love unconditionally in the context of the Golden Rule is about the hundreds of choices we make during our daily lives. Are these choices loving or unloving? Each time we make a choice about what we are going to think, feel or do, we are getting closer to God, or further away from Him.

Our soul growth is measured by the extent by which we can love unconditionally. In the physical world, our level of soul growth is evidenced by our character.

We generally maintain throughout eternity the level of soul (or spiritual) growth we have attained. Our character does not regress even though our memory of past incarnations is veiled during this current physical incarnation.

A temporary incarnation in the physical dimensions provides an opportunity to settle any karmic debt you may have incurred during past lives.

Spiritual evolution is not the same as biological evolution. Human beings may look the same and live together at the same time in the physical dimensions, but this physical similarity or the fact that they have incarnated together is not at all related to their state of spiritual development. The person sitting next to you may be a soul who is thousands of times more loving than you, but there is no quick and easy way to determine this. Do not waste your time judging other souls. Concern yourself with your own growth first and foremost. While this sounds selfish, as you grow you will begin to understand how closely your personal growth is linked to the well being of other souls.

If you measure the success of your life by any criteria other than soul growth, you are wasting your time in this incarnation.

There are three basic types of soul currently experiencing reincarnation on Earth. There are souls who have decided that they will try to serve others (“selfless”) there are souls who have decided to serve only themselves by putting their own self interest above others (“selfish”) and there are souls who do not fit either role clearly, but who are easily manipulated into serving their own self interest.

Your Mission or Purpose

Your agreement to incarnate in the physical dimensions included specific goals. These goals are veiled from you. It is up to you to discover your goals. Your goals are directly associated with growing the love within yourself and/or others.

Discovering your mission requires time and reflection.

To identify your mission, look inwardly at yourself and try to identify your passion and what drives you, without being constrained by cultural norms, roles and social pressure. Search your heart?

Your mission may not involve grand gestures with huge consequence for society. It might be a simple as overcoming the challenges of physical life. Your mission includes addressing personal weaknesses such as selfishness, misdirected ego, or the love of material things.

Whenever you have a mission, purpose or goal in mind, remember that how you achieve it just as important as what you achieve. Another way of saying this is that whatever you do should be done with love.

Your mission is very likely to also involve helping other souls to grow. Ask yourself what you care deeply about? Is this associated in some way with helping other souls to grow in love? Helping others may be a simple as setting an example for others, or bringing up children.

Your life and circumstances are challenges for you to overcome and change if they are not leading you to love.

Be careful that you do not allow others to set your mission or purpose for you. If you blindly follow others, you will lose your freewill and subvert your intuition.

Whatever the specific elements of your mission are, your goal is to learn to forgive, release fear, and practice love.

This physical incarnation can be easy and fun, but for this to be so, you are going to need to learn how to overcome fear and live your life from a sense of love, passion and joy. Any difficulties you experience can be turned into positive learning experiences if you so choose.

The reason we are here in this physical world is for soul growth. This physical world is the ideal place for this. Spiritual growth in the spirit realms is more difficult. The reason is that the influence of our physical bodies gives us the opportunity for a full range of love (a child's love, marital love, and parental love) which is ideally available here. Love that is misused or misdirected is best corrected in the here. In this physical world, there is the full range of physical and spiritual senses with which to act and communicate.

 Nora Spurgin

The Earth is the ultimate experience for a soul because it can evolve faster here than anywhere else. The lessons we need to learn are difficult to learn without having a physical body.

David Oakford

The Earth is the ideal place for spiritual growth because of the influence of our physical body. Opportunities to experience a full range of love is ideally available on Earth. Love which has been misused or misdirected, is also best corrected on Earth.

Nora Spurgin

Love is the only sane and satisfactory answer to the problem of human existence.

Erich Fromm

Aristotle

A central aspect of our eternal existence is continued spiritual growth through love and service. We can spend what seems like an eternity before incarnating in the flesh. During that period in the spirit world, soul growth can be attained there as well.

Nora Spurgin

We came to this physical realm to live the human experience and help each other rise to the higher level of love.

Sherry Gideon

Each one of us came to earth on a personal mission to be loved or to give love. We are to learn the value and price of love. Other parts of our mission include learning patience, humility, self-discipline, and other virtues. These attributes are parts of love.

Betty Eadie

You've got to continue to grow, or you're just like last night's cornbread--stale and dry.

Loretta Lynn

If a soul has a spiritual ideal and desires to know if it actually possesses that ideal, the soul can come to Earth to be tested after applying this ideal in a physical life. The Earth is a good school for overcoming certain weaknesses in ways that only a body of flesh can. We apply ourselves here on Earth to see if those weaknesses are truly overcome. Here we can learn for sure whether we have really changed.

Edgar Cayce

The way to measure your life is by your growth -- not success or failure, pleasure or pain. The rich man might be very successful by worldly standards, but if he has attained no growth, his life has not amounted to much. The individual who has had a terrible life by worldly standards may have attained incredible soul growth, so it is he who is to be seen as an example.

Dick Sutphen

The soul is placed in the body like a rough diamond, and must be polished, or the lustre of it will never appear.

Daniel Defoe

Mother Teresa

Be patient with all that is unresolved in your heart. And try to love the questions themselves. Do not seek for the answers that cannot be given. For you wouldn't be able to live with them. And the point is to live everything, live the questions now, and perhaps without knowing it, you will live along some day into the answers.

Rainer Maria Rilke (poet)

At the center of your being you have the answer You know who you are and you know what you want.

Lao-tzu

To the world, you might be one person... but to one person, you just might be the world.

Author Unknown

Any time that is not spent on love is wasted. Tasso Each soul enters with a mission. We all have a mission to perform.

Erich Fromm

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Mark Twain

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life...Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.

Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

George Bernard Shaw

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.

Anne Frank

Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.

Mahatma Gandhi

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life’s about creating yourself.

George Bernard Shaw

I am only one, but I am one. I can't do everything, but I can do something. The something I ought to do, I can do. And by the grace of God, I will.

Edward Everett Hale

We have all been placed on this earth to discover our own path, and we will never be happy if we live someone else’s idea of life.

James Van Praagh

Every man has his own vocation. The talent is the call. There is one direction in which all space is open to him. He has faculties silently inviting him thither to endless exertion. He is like a ship in a river he runs against obstructions on every side but one on that side all obstruction is taken away, and he sweeps serenely over God's depths into an infinite sea. This talent and this call depend on his organization, or the mode in which a general soul incarnates in him. He inclines to do something which is easy to him, and good when it is done, but which no other man can do. He has no rival. For the more truly he consults his own powers, the more difference will his work exhibit from the work of any other. When he is true and faithful, his ambition is exactly proportional to his powers. By doing his work he makes the need felt which only he can supply.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness.

Chinese Proverb

It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.

Mother Teresa

If you take a single step toward positive change, that divine energy will take a hundred steps toward you. New worlds and unbelievable possibilities will open up for you. The synchronicities that will begin appearing in your life will become a source of delight and amazement.

Joan Borysenko

What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.

Pericles

If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.

Fred (Mr.) Rogers

You are here to evolve and make your consciousness high. You are here to dance, sing and celebrate life. You are here to help others to make their life happy. We are here not to compete, but to learn, evolve and excel. We are not here to make divisions in the name of prophets and religions. We are here to encompass the world with love and light.
