Teachers
Humanity is becoming more spiritually aware through the legacy and wisdom of teachers who truly understand what God asks of us. These people have shown the way to those with the necessary motivation.
Religions grew up around the spiritual teachers who came to teach us how to love.
If religion is to have a positive impact in your life, you must feel the love rather than fear the teacher. Your religion should teach you kindly and with love.
The best known teachers include Jesus, Mohammed and The Buddha. They delivered and demonstrated universal and simple love-based spiritual messages for mankind. These teachers are successful because we know the truth of what they taught at a sub-conscious level.
The most effective religions and belief systems put more emphasis on the teachings than the teacher. In other words, it is better to spend our time living the message rather than worshiping the teacher.
If you follow a particular teacher, copy his or her loving behavior. For example, if you claim to be Christian, imitate Jesus. Jesus challenged us to act like Him if we believe in Him.
In modern times, teachers of great wisdom have led by example, and left behind a legacy of great love. These teachers include Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa and the Dalai Lama.
You have a teacher within you. It is called intuition. You were created by God with a conscience, and intuition as a guide. You intuitively know right from wrong.
If you need help, God said to ask Him and listen for His answer. This is called prayer, and he will send intuition to guide you. This is called the Holy Spirit in Christianity.
Not all teachers are affiliated with traditional religions. Many teachers choose to deliver their spiritual message of love from outside of the confines of traditional religion.
There are many advanced souls who agree to incarnate and willingly suffer physical or mental handicaps or trauma in order to show and teach others the value and power of love.
Your teachers are also those kind souls who live around you and teach you by demonstrating their loving behavior every day. God instructed all of us to lead by example.
You can be a teacher too! Even time you act with unconditional love, you teach those around you. Every kind word, smile, or selfless act is magnified many times as it echoes through creation.
Successful spiritual teachers understand that they are not responsible for the growth of other souls, and they cannot force the unwilling to learn. Trying to force knowledge or behavior on another soul creates resistance and is de-energizing. Successful teaching involves compassion and leading by example. Sometimes this is done through non-verbal communication at a sub-conscious level. The compassion of a great teacher will draw out the love within a soul who is exposed to it.
A teacher can tell us what they know and lovingly guide us, but because we all have freewill we are responsible for our own choices, and for the development of the love within us.
God did not establish religions. Spiritually advanced souls incarnated in order to teach and lead by example. Religions were set up by mankind to focus on the teachings of particular teachers. Unfortunately, religions became social and political organizations, and as a result they have often not done a good job of teaching love and the Golden Rule. They have frequently failed to lead by loving example.
The simple spiritual messages of teachers like Jesus, The Buddha and Mohammed have been made complicated by the religions which formed around them. It is easy to get frustrated by the obtuse messages of religion. The theology, doctrine and dogma created by religion to explain God is often a complex and unnecessary distraction. It is unconditional love that elevates you, nothing else.
When it comes to understanding the message of any particular teacher, you must use your powers of discernment and intuition. Messages often get distorted by those who try to control you. Compare what you are being taught to the Golden Rule. If there is any discrepancy, then either the teacher is wrong or the teacher is being misrepresented.
Spiritual Teacher Quotes
I know men and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between him and every other person in the world there is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I founded empires. But on what did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love and at this hour millions of people would die for Him.
Napoleon Bonaparte
As a child I received instruction both in the Bible and in the Talmud. I am a Jew, but I am enthralled by the luminous figure of the Nazarene....No one can read the Gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus. His personality pulsates in every word. No myth is filled with such life.
Albert Einstein
When a man listens to the voice of the tempter within him, he is inclined to do as others do, not to resist when temptation seems great. But when he looks into the laws of God, and hears the words of Christ, his natural sense of right and wrong is restored to him, and he becomes elevated, purified, and sanctified.
Benjamin Jowett
Jesus of Nazareth, without money and arms, conquered more millions than Alexander, Caesar, Mahomet, and Napoleon without science and learning, He shed more light on things human and divine than all philosophers and schools combined without the eloquence of schools, He spoke words of life such as never were spoken before or since, and produced effects which lie beyond the reach of any orator or poet without writing a single line, He has set more pens in motion, and furnished themes for more sermons, orations, discussions, learned volumes, works of art and sweet songs of praise, than the whole army of great men of ancient and modern times. Born in a manger, and crucified as a malefactor, He now controls the destinies of the civilized world, and rules a spiritual empire which embraces one-third of the inhabitants of the globe. There never was in this world a life so unpretending, modest, and lowly in its outward form and condition, and yet producing such extraordinary effects upon all ages, nations, and classes of men. The annals of history produce no other example of such complete and astonishing success in spite of the absence of those material, social, literary, and artistic powers and influences which are indispensable to success for a mere man.
Philip Schaff
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
John 14:12
The reality is that God, in the form of Christ and according to the Bible, gave no quarter for argument. His teachings never used the words "should" or "may" or "could" or "ought to". They all used the word "Shall" which leaves no room for discussion or dissension.
John Cannon
Those born with mental or physical afflictions are more spiritually advanced than others, born to help others evolve spiritually.
Sandra Rogers
I saw that the handicapped and mentally retarded people - the ones at whom I had once laughed at - were exalted above the masses of people because they were humble and innocent.
Doug Roosevelt
Some of what we souls down here consider the worst of us are actually teachers. A handicapped person is a very, very, high teacher. People who suffer greatly come down here to teach the rest of us.
Darlene Holman
Jesus is God brought into focus for human eyes.
Unknown
When the student is ready, the teacher appears.
Tao saying
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
Buddha
It is one of the gifts of great spiritual teachers to make things simple. It is one of the gifts of their followers to complicate them again. Often we need to scrape away the accumulated complications of a master’s message in order to hear the kernel of what they said.
Julia Cameron, God is No Laughing Matter
I believe there is no one lovelier, deeper, more sympathetic and more perfect than Jesus - not only is there no one else like him, but there could never be anyone like him.
Dostoevsky
Then said a teacher, "Speak to us of Teaching." And he said: No man can reveal to you aught but that which already lies half asleep in the dawning of our knowledge. The teacher who walks in the shadow of the temple, among his followers, gives not of his wisdom but rather of his faith and his lovingness. If he is indeed wise he does not bid you enter the house of wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind. The astronomer may speak to you of his understanding of space, but he cannot give you his understanding. The musician may sing to you of the rhythm which is in all space, but he cannot give you the ear which arrests the rhythm nor the voice that echoes it. And he who is versed in the science of numbers can tell of the regions of weight and measure, but he cannot conduct you thither. For the vision of one man lends not its wings to another man. And even as each one of you stands alone in God's knowledge, so must each one of you be alone in his knowledge of God and in his understanding of the earth.
Kahlil Gibran - The Prophet - On Teaching
Cowardice asks the question, "Is it safe?" Expedience asks the question, "Is it political?" Vanity asks, "Is it popular?" But conscience asks the question, "Is it right?" There comes a time when one must take a position that's neither safe, nor political, nor popular, but he must make it because his conscience tells him that it's right.
Martin Luther King
God promises a safe landing but not a calm passage.
