God and Science

Some people wonder about their origins from a scientific point of view, but they can only follow the trail back as far as the Big Bang theory. Then they reach a dead end because science cannot explain who or what caused the Big Bang. Another thing that science cannot explain is the mystery of consciousness.

There is no conflict between God and science. God wields a multidimensional science which is far beyond our understanding while we are anchored in this physical universe.

Thinking of God in the context of science does not detract from the wonder of God.

There is a convergence currently taking place in which the relationship between God, science, spirituality and religion is quickly being revealed. Science is catching up with spirituality and religion by developing theories that support realities which are hidden from the physical world.

Our physical universe consists of three dimensions of space (height x width x length) and one of time. It is only a small piece of God's creation.

The physical universe was sourced from dimensions that exist outside of itself. It was created by our one and only God. It is full of life.

There can never be scientific proof of God from within the physical universe, because the proof would be subject to the scientific method and very limited science of the physical universe, and could not take into account all dimensions of creation.

The science of the physical universe is a sub-set of the science which governs the totality of creation.

While there can be no scientific proof of God while you are in this physical incarnation, you can use any combination of faith, intuition and intellect to help you develop your ability to love unconditionally and evolve as a soul. It is love, not knowledge, which enables us to evolve.

Dimensions

You, a soul, are a multidimensional, eternal and unique consciousness, but your physical body only exists in the physical universe.

The physical universe is not the primary reality of creation because it does not encompass all dimensions.

All dimensions of creation can be referred to as the "Multiverse". String theories currently speculate that the multiverse contains at least 10 spacial dimensions, and maybe as many as 26.

The multiverse is a much deeper and more fundamental reality than the physical dimensions our bodies inhabit. We can only access this deeper reality as a soul. This is where our true or real home is to be found.

Dimensions that are not generally accessible to our physical senses are sometimes referred to as the “Spiritual” or “Non-Physical” dimensions or realms. The totality of dimensions is a spectrum containing an infinite number of subsets or levels.

The spiritual or non-physical dimensions are real and they obey scientific laws. They are not wild imaginings.

Religions have many diverse names for the spiritual or non-physical dimensions, such as "Heaven" and "Hell", "Nirvana" or the "Afterlife".

We typically think of dimensions in terms of space or time, but there may be other types of dimension that are beyond our ability to conceive.

If it would be helpful, you can think of the physical universe as being an environment where we practice and develop our ability to love, before returning to our real home in the spiritual dimensions.

Until recently, our science tried to explain the universe using the physical (or material) world as the starting point. This caused many unexplained anomalies. However, our scientific research has begun to consider the possibility that there is a multi-dimensional aspect to our existence. Through the study of quantum physics, theoretical physicists are developing and testing theories that postulate additional dimensions that we cannot perceive with our senses. Theories developed from quantum physics include the holographic principle, string theory and dark matter theory. Parallel universes in the multiverse are predicted by inflation theory, quantum theory, and string theory.

Significant scientific progress will only be made when science fully accepts that the physical universe was sourced from, and is supported by, dimensions outside of itself.

Established scientific theories such as string theory are not the wild imaginings of scientists! Scientific theory requires rigorous thought, mathematical testing and peer review. The study of quantum physics enables us to conduct formative research to develop scientific theory that points to the existence of other dimensions. We can detect evidence of their existence, but we are not able to prove their existence using the science of the physical universe.

We think of space and time as being vast and infinite, but in reality, space and time become an illusion as other dimensions are added. In addition, location becomes meaningless because all dimensions are connected in such a manner as to enable movement from one dimension to another in a way that makes space and time irrelevant. Additional dimensions that we cannot detect intersect with ours, and therefore we are a part of them and they are a part of us.

In 1982 French physicist Alain Aspect led a research team that discovered that sub-atomic particles were able to remain in contact with each other regardless of distance. This discovery violated the theory that faster than light travel was not possible. It led to theories such as the holographic principle (David Bohn), which supports the concept that everything in the universe is infinitely interconnected, that separateness is an illusion, and that everything in creation is part of one seamless whole.

There is much evidence for the existence of other dimensions which is ignored or misunderstood by science. Many scientists politely (or less politely!) ignore the evidence of human experiences, which although observed to a statistical certainty, are mostly not able to be repeated or explained scientifically. These experiences include extra sensory perception or ESP, telepathy, remote viewing, out-of-body and near-death experiences, after death communications, pre-birth memories, telekinesis, and other psychic phenomena. All of these phenomena involve dimensions over and above the physical dimensions that our bodies inhabit.

Time, as we think of it, does not exist in all dimensions. It has been described as a series of "now" moments which our minds link together to produce the illusion of time. This is almost impossible to understand while we are anchored in the physical universe. Fortunately, the only thing we really need to understand is that time is limited in the physical realms, so we ought to take advantage of the enhanced opportunities for soul growth while we can.

Communication between the Physical and Spiritual Dimensions

Our bodily senses can usually only perceive the dimensions of the physical universe.

As non-physical souls, we can communicate telepathically with all dimensions, but we cannot enter the non-physical dimensions unless we leave our body.

We consciously communicate with the spiritual dimensions when we use our freewill to initiate contact with God and non-physical entities.

Unconscious communication with the spiritual dimensions is common while we are having a physical incarnation, especially if we have asked for help.

Communication between the physical and non-physical dimensions usually bypasses our physical senses and requires us to be open to using our intuition to listen for a response or guidance. We very often receive help, but we do not recognize it.

When we experience conscious communication from outside the physical dimensions (or "realms"), we sometimes refer to these experiences and "Supernatural". Supernatural experiences cannot be explained by the limited three-dimensional science of our physical existence.

We use our minds, or consciousness, to communicate with the spiritual dimensions. Any use of our physical senses for this communication is incidental. For example, when we pray, it is our mind that is communicating. Our spoken words help to focus our intention, but are not necessary for communication to take place. We can pray silently and God listens.

When we are communicating with the spiritual dimensions, we are using psychic powers. We all have these powers, but some have much more psychic power than others.

Definitions of “Psychic” include:

  • Lying outside the sphere of physical science or knowledge
  • Spiritual
  • Relating to some apparently nonphysical force or agency, or
  • Sensitive to influences or forces of a nonphysical or supernatural nature.

Mind over Matter

We are conditioned to believe that our world is solid and that it is built of matter, but matter is an illusion, and modern physics has confirmed this. The reality is that everything consists of vibrating energy, and what we think is solid material actually contains very little physical matter.

Everything starts with our consciousness producing a thought. Thoughts are very powerful, but most people do not understand their power. What you think affects how creation develops around you. In other words, your thoughts create your reality. You are what you think, and your thoughts are just as important as your actions. Your loving thoughts and behavior benefit the world around you in ways that are not always readily apparent.

Never underestimate the power of the mind to affect the physical world. You do not need to understand how this works.

Science is just beginning to understand that reality is dependent on the observer. The double slit experiment confirmed that we can affect reality by observing it, and that reality may not exist until it is observed or brought into being by thought.

“Miracles” are a product of science that is accessed through our consciousness (or mind).

Your thoughts create your reality, and they often overrule the raw data that your senses provide. If you have been trained or conditioned to believe something, evidence to the contrary may not be perceptible to you even though your senses detect it. Hypnosis is one way to manipulate your reality.

Scientists who have tried to examine what they presume are the smallest building blocks of matter have found that they do not cooperate! Science cannot observe even the tiniest building blocks of life without changing their behavior. At the sub-atomic level, scientists can be sure of a particle’s location or speed, but not both! Multidimensional reality seems to confound the science of the physical world.

Our ability to detect the totality of creation is limited by the narrow range within which our senses operate. For example, we can only see a narrow band of light, or hear a narrow range of sound.

Vibration

Everything in the physical dimensions consists of vibrating energy.

The reason that we so closely associate with our physical bodies is because our physical senses overpower our minds, and what we see, hear and touch seems far more tangible than what we think! Our scientific understanding has revealed that the tangible nature of the physical world is an illusion and that all matter consists of vibrating energy with practically no substance!

The love within our soul creates a vibration which defines us. The frequency or rate of this vibration increases according to our level of soul development. The more love there is in our soul, the higher or faster it vibrates.

Our soul vibration determines where we go when our bodies die. We fit within a broad spectrum of realms. As we grow in love, we vibrate faster. The faster (or higher) the vibration, the more wonderful our environment in the next realms will be! Souls with a low vibration simply cannot exist towards the high frequency end of the spectrum, but high frequency souls can visit the lower frequency realms.

In the spiritual realms we fit in with souls of the same vibrational frequency as us. In simple terms, you will be with people who have the same character and love as you.

The higher the level of vibration (or love), the more light is generated. This is why our soul vibration is sometimes referred to as light. It also explains the religious symbolism of halos, and it is the reason why references to God in the bible include references to light.

The higher realms in the spiritual dimensions vibrate with a frequency which is only compatible with love.

What we think of as Heaven and Hell, or the presence or absence of God, are at opposite ends of the spectrum of vibration.

Intelligent Design verses Evolution?

God created the universe, which was sourced from, and is supported by, dimensions outside of itself.

Those of us who doubt the existence of God and his role as creator of the universe ("Intelligent Designer") need an alternative theory of how the universe came into existence?

The most recognized scientific theory for the origin of the universe is that the universe had a beginning, called "Singularity", about 14 billion years ago, and was created by a massive expansion from a single point. This is referred to as the "Big Bang" theory. This theory starts with Singularity, and does not explain who or what caused the Big Bang.

The theory of evolution is not in conflict with the Bible and the concept that the universe was sourced from an intelligent design ("Creationism"). The book of Genesis says that the world was created through a process of several era, as does evolution. Use of the word “days” in the Bible, as in “the world was created in six days” is a mistranslation. The world was created in six era.

Is science important?

Our scientific understanding of the physical dimensions (the universe) is meaningless and irrelevant in the context of soul growth.

The pursuit of scientific understanding can be an unnecessary distraction in the context of soul growth.

Most of us would be better served by learning to love rather than trying to discover or prove God from a scientific point of view. We are here to try to evolve as souls, and we need to learn unconditional love because it is the right thing to do. If the veil were lifted and we knew for sure that we are immortal and that unconditional love is the key to how we experience eternal life, our loving actions might not be genuine or sincere, and we might not be inclined to fully experience the physical world.

Scientific knowledge will not advance humankind. Only wisdom derived from soul growth can achieve this. We will not be able to manage the science till we have wisdom. Many scientifically advanced life forms became extinct because they did not recognize and respect the difference between wisdom and knowledge. This remains a risk for the human race.

A scientifically advanced culture is not necessarily a spiritually advanced culture. Many aspects of ancient and current native cultures are much more spiritually advanced than 21st century life in the western world.

Advanced scientific knowledge can be very dangerous, whether this danger is through deliberate misuse (terror), or inadvertent (error). Without wisdom and love we will destroy ourselves with what little science we do understand.

There are many scientific discoveries and revelations that have been deliberately concealed for reasons of control, power, and money. The withholding of scientific advances is harming our future.

The universe is full of life, and there are many life forms which are much more scientifically advanced than the human race. We cannot hope to match their science, so we will need to develop our spiritual wisdom if we want to maintain our independence.

God and Science Quotes

Everyone who is seriously interested in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the universe a spirit vastly superior to man, and one in the face of which our modest powers must feel humble.
Albert Einstein

When I began my career as a cosmologist some twenty years ago, I was a convinced atheist. I never in my wildest dreams imagined that one day I would be writing a book purporting to show that the central claims of Judeo-Christian theology are in fact true, that these claims are straightforward deductions of the laws of physics as we now understand them. I have been forced into these conclusions by the inexorable logic of my own special branch of physics.
Frank J. Tipler, The Physics Of Immortality (New York, Doubleday, 1994), Preface.

A miracle is not the breaking of physical laws, but rather represents laws which are incomprehensible to us.
Guirdjieff

Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

The visible world is the invisible organization of energy.
Physicist Heinz Pagels

There is no reality in the absence of observation.

The Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics

We have actually touched the Borderland where Matter and Force seem to merge into one another, the shadowy realm between the Known and Unknown ... I venture to think that the greatest scientific problems of the future will find their solution in this Borderland, and even beyond here, it seems to me, lie Ultimate Realities, subtle, far- reaching, wonderful.

Sir William Crookes, 1879

We have too many men of science too few men of God. We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon on the Mount. ... Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants.

General Omar N. Bradley

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Arthur C. Clarke, “Technology and the Future”

If you would learn the secrets of nature, you must practice more humanity than others.

Henry David Thoreau

The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.

Isaac Asimov

Do you remember how electrical currents and 'unseen waves' were laughed at? The knowledge about man is still in its infancy.

Albert Einstein

The person who can split an atom but has no love in his heart is a monster.

J Krishnamurti

Time and space are modes by which we think and not conditions in which we live.

Albert Einstein

Our bodies exist, of course, in the physical world, which provides an environment for our activity and growth on Earth and offers us nourishment, stimulation and joy. Likewise, there is a spiritual dimension of the universe the invisible spirit world- which serves as the environment for our spirits. Our spirit is the internal counterpart to our physical body, and the spirit world is the invisible counterpart to the physical world. This world is located not up in heaven, but in a different dimension, inter-penetrating the physical world and the universe. While on Earth we exist in both worlds at once, in effect connecting the two. For this reason, people on occasion can have visions and communicate with the dead.

Nora Spurgin

Technically you need the extra dimensions. At first people didn't like them too much, but they've got a big benefit, which is that the ability of string theory to describe all the elementary particles and their forces along with gravity depends on using the extra dimensions.

Edward Witten

According to String Theory, what appears to be empty space is actually a tumultuous ocean of strings vibrating at the precise frequencies that create the 4 dimensions you and I call height, width, depth and time.

Roy H Williams

Einstein was searching for String Theory. It not only reconciles General Relativity to Quantum Mechanics, but it reconciles Science and the Bible as well.

Roy H Williams

Science and religion...are friends, not foes, in the common quest for knowledge. Some people may find this surprising, for there's a feeling throughout our society that religious belief is outmoded, or downright impossible, in a scientific age. I don't agree. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that if people in this so-called 'scientific age' knew a bit more about science than many of them actually do, they'd find it easier to share my views.

Physicist John Polkinghorne, "Quarks, Chaos, and Christianity"

All of the various heavenly realms of consciousness have different frequencies of vibration. Matter on Earth is composed of atoms and these atoms are composed of energy which vibrates. Earth matter is denser than the matter of the higher realms. We can see Earth matter because of light waves which vibrate at a visual observing rate. But the same reason that we cannot see radio or television waves, which vibrate at too fast a rate to be seen, is the same reason we cannot see the matter of higher realms, unless you happen to be clairvoyant.

Margaret Tweddell

I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulates consciousness.

Max Planck - Nobel Prize in Physics, quote from The Observer, London, January 25, 1931

When we love unselfishly, our vibrations are so high that the only place we'll fit into is heaven. There is no other place we can go if we want to. This is divine justice because it gives everyone an equal chance to eventually attain the harmony to fit into some kind of heaven - regardless of their intelligence, education, indoctrination, ignorance, wealth or poverty.

Arthur Yensen

After death people gravitate into homogenous groups according to the rate of their soul's vibrations much like throwing a small pebble into a threshing machine. It goes into the box that fits its proper size and weight. After death, we are sorted by the high or low vibrations of our soul. Everyone goes where they fit in! High vibrations indicate love and spiritual development, while low vibrations indicate debasement and evil. All one has to do is to love so unselfishly that their soul- vibrations rise high enough to fit into heaven.

Arthur Yensen

There is a step-up of energy at the moment of death, an increase in speed as if you are suddenly vibrating faster than before. Using radio as an analogy, this speed-up is comparable to having lived all your life at a certain radio frequency when all of a sudden someone or something comes along and flips the dial. That flip shifts you to another, higher wavelength. The original frequency where you once existed is still there. It did not change. Everything is still just the same as it was. Only you changed, only you speeded up to allow entry into the next radio frequency on the dial. You fit your particular spot on the dial by your speed of vibration. You cannot coexist forever where you do not belong. You shift frequencies in dying. You switch over to life on another wavelength. You are still a spot on the dial but you move up or down a notch or two. You don't die when you die. You shift your consciousness and speed of vibration. That's all death is ... a shift.

Dr. PMH Atwater

Heaven is a matter of vibration and the various realms after death is based on the various levels of spiritual energy that exists. As quantum physicists state, the 10 dimensions of reality exist within the same space as our universe and are based on the varying energy levels that exist. The reason we cannot see these multi- dimensional energy levels is the same reason we cannot see radio or television waves because they exist beyond the frequency on the light spectrum that we can see. For this reason, the realms of spiritual energy that exists after death, which is the same energy levels described by quantum physicists, is based on different frequencies of vibration. Love can be compared to heat that has vibrations that are finer that colder temperatures. The greater the love - the finer the vibration - and the closer we are to heaven. Heavier vibrations represent coldness and the heavier the vibrations the nearer we are to hell.

Kevin Williams

The probability of life originating from accident is comparable to the probability of the unabridged dictionary resulting from an explosion in a printing shop.

Dr. Edwin Conklin, evolutionist and professor of biology at Princeton University.

All of us who study the origin of life find that the more we look into it, the more we feel it is too complex to have evolved anywhere. We all believe as an article of faith that life evolved from dead matter on this planet. It is just that life's complexity is so great, it is hard for us to imagine that it did.

Dr. Harold Urey, Nobel Prize winner

All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force… We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the matrix of all matter.

Max Planck, Nobel Prize-winning Father of Quantum Theory

When you realize that the laws of nature must be incredibly finely tuned to produce the universe we see, that conspires to plant the idea that the universe did not just happen, but that there must be a purpose behind it.

John Polkinghorne, Cambridge University physicist, "Science Finds God," Newsweek, 20 July, 1998

It never ceases to amaze us that when we were in kindergarten they taught us that a frog turning into a prince was a nursery fairy tale, but when we got to college they told us that a frog turning into a prince was science!

Ron Carlson

Human DNA contains more organized information than the Encyclopedia Britannica. If the full text of the encyclopedia were to arrive in computer code from outer space, most people would regard this as proof of the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence. But when seen in nature, it is explained as the workings of random forces.

George Sim Johnson "Did Darwin Get it Right?"

The Wall Street Journal, October 15, 1999

I could prove God statistically take the human body alone the chance that all the functions of the individual would just happen, is a statistical monstrosity.

George Gallup, the famous statistician

The more statistically improbable a thing is, the less we can believe that it just happened by blind chance. Superficially, the obvious alternative to chance is an intelligent Designer.

Professor Richard Dawkins, an atheist

This most beautiful system of sun, planets, and comets could only proceed from the council and dominion of an intelligent and powerful being.

Sir Isaac Newton, regarded as the greatest scientist of all time.

J. B. S. Haldane

God used beautiful mathematics in creating the world.

Paul Dirac

Science has so far been unable to tell us how self-aware dogs are, much less whether they have anything like our conscious thoughts. This is not surprising, since neither scientists nor philosophers can agree about what the consciousness of humans consists of, let alone that of animals.

John Bradshaw, Dog Sense

If you aren't confused by quantum mechanics, you haven't really understood it.

Neils Bohr

The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.

Nikola Tesla

Time is, in fact, the hero of the plot... given so much time the 'impossible' becomes possible, the possible probable and the probable virtually certain. One has only to wait: time itself performs miracles.

George Wald, "The Origin of Life," Physics and Chemistry of Life, 1955, p. 12.

Many have a feeling that somehow intelligence must have been involved in the laws of the universe.

Charles Townes, 1964 Nobel Prize winner in physics, "Science Finds God," Newsweek, 20 July, 1998

I believe there is no source of deception in the investigation of nature which can compare with a fixed belief that certain kinds of phenomena are impossible.

William James

The probability for the chance of formation of the smallest, simplest form of living organism known is 1 to 10-340,000,000. This number is 1 to 10 to the 340 millionth power! The size of this figure is truly staggering, since there is only supposed to be approximately 10-80 (10 to the 80th power) electrons in the whole universe!

Professor Harold Morowitz

The complexity of the simplest known type cell is so great that it is impossible to accept that such an object could have been thrown together by some kind of freakish, vastly improbable event. Such an occurrence would be indistinguishable from a miracle.

Dr. Michael Denton, molecular biochemist

The world is too complicated in all parts and interconnections to be due to chance alone. I am convinced that the existence of life with all its order in each of its organisms is simply too well put together. Each part of a living thing depends on all its other parts to function. How does each part know? How is each part specified at conception? The more one learns of biochemistry the more unbelievable it becomes unless there is some type of organizing principle---an architect.

Scientist Allan Sandage

Not only does God play dice, but ... he sometimes throws them where they cannot be seen.

Stephen Hawking

The universe and the Laws of Physics seem to have been specifically designed for us. If any one of about 40 physical qualities had more than slightly different values, life as we know it could not exist: Either atoms would not be stable, or they wouldn't combine into molecules, or the stars wouldn't form heavier elements, or the universe would collapse before life could develop, and so on...

Stephen Hawking

I have yet to meet a single person from our culture, no matter what his or her educational background, IQ, and specific training, who had powerful transpersonal experiences and continues to subscribe to the materialistic monism of Western science.

Albert Einstein

Matter, that thing the most solid and the well-known, which you are holding in your hands and which makes up your body, is now known to be mostly empty space. Empty space and points of light. What does this say about the reality of the world?

Jeanette Winterson

Things that look like they were designed, probably were... If intelligence is an operative component of the universe, a science that methodologically excludes its existence will be susceptible to being trapped in an endless chase for materialistic causes that do not exist... Where there are sufficient grounds for inferring intelligent causation, based on evidence of "specified complexity," it should be considered as a component of scientific theories. Inclusion of intelligent causation in the scientific equation is not novel and has not impeded the practice of science in the past, e.g. Newton and Kepler, in an age when science was not constrained by a philosophical materialism, and by many current scientists who have remained open to following the evidence where it leads.

Donald L. Ewert

If you want to create an apple pie from scratch, you must first create an universe.

Carl Sagan.

It's clearly a crisis of two things: of consciousness and conditioning. We have the technological power, the engineering skills to save our planet, to cure disease, to feed the hungry, to end war But we lack the intellectual vision, the ability to change our minds. We must decondition ourselves from 10,000 years of bad behavior. And, it's not easy.

Terence McKenna

I am somehow less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Stephen Jay Gould

Some things have to be believed to be seen.

Ralph Hodgson on ESP
